On Saturday, August 31st, 2013, Edmontonians enjoyed a lovely evening on the unique rooftop of your downtown Vinci Park 103 parkade. With the incredible support from the community, we were thrilled with the collaborative event with more than 400 attendees and raising lots of money in support of Boyle Street Community Services’ Downtown Proud.
The evening featured the classic film Grease, DJ Thomas Scott, E-Town Salsa, Sugar Swing Dance Club, Fat Franks, and Cookie Love. Special thanks for the incredibly generous support from Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, Downtown Business Association of Edmonton, Downtown Edmonton Community League, Oliver Community League, Edmonton Awesome Foundation, Media Architecture Design Edmonton (MADE), Guru Digital Arts College, Alistair Henning Photography, and Cask & Barrel. Our sincerest appreciation to the amazing volunteer team and, last but not least, to YOU for supporting Blink: Parkade Party!
Thanks again for helping us realize a different use for this urban space. The curious Parkade Party story and how this Blink team came together was born from a simple Make Something Edmonton post and a serendipitous reunion. We sincerely appreciate all the positive and constructive feedback received about the party. Should you decide you’d like to thrown your very own version of a Parkade Party, we are happy to provide advice to help make it happen.
